Price Check on Butter/lesser

I saw one at petsmart here for 250 dollars, unknown sex, just a baby. I know its better to get from a breeder but I like to try and save them from the poor conditions they are in.. so just wondering the price

I got my female for 300 sticker price was 350

Well if the one at petsmart turns out to be a male then 250 is over priced, if it turns out to be female then 250 is a decent price.
Also as many have said before buying a snake from a petstore to 'save it from its living conditions' is somewhat futile. All the store sees is that "hey ..people are actually buying these things at that price, lets restock".
Then a week or two later theres yet another snake in there in same conditions.

I paid $350 for my butter girl and I think she was worth every penny. Personally though I'd look into getting a lesser/butter from a breeder: I bet you can find better quality than the one that's at Petsmart at around the same price.

I say find somebody local to you that knows how to sex a snake then ask to see the snake and then have them pop it while you distract the person that took the snake out. Then if it turns out to be a female buy her.

Now I can almost guarantee you right now that it's a male because they in turn got it from a breeder for probably slightly less than what a male normally runs for and in turn they jacked the price up to make profit. The person who sold them the snake knows it's a male. They don't know because they didn't ask them.

I was thinking about posting this myself lol, that is if it's the Dothan Petsmart you are talking about.

sadly, to the people saying "buy from a breeder, don't support these big stores" it doesn't matter if JUST me stops buying, and you will never get enough people to stop buying reptiles from these stores so they will always carry them. If I feel like I saved one snakes life from being hell, and in return "support" them, sadly, I guess that's how it will be

What people are trying to say is that by you buying to save that animal they see that animal sells. So they in turn get another one and then somebody like you comes around and buys, so then they get another and another and another.

At least with a breeder you're supporting a local business and not a corporate business. You also get a healthier animal and then you know what sex you're getting.
