Orange pin's ?

My first clutch of the year shed last Friday. The pairing was pin/lesser. But the babies were kind of neat. I got 2 pins, 2 lesser's and 1 normal. But the pins and the normal came out super orange and I'm wondering if this is normal. Most baby pins I've seen don't look like these 2.

And the 2 lesser's were about as different as lesser's can be. It's hard to believe these came from the same clutch.

Sorry I know the pictures aren't great.

I've seen some that are brown, some that have high white sides and some that are more orange.. it's "normal"

Can we get some better pics? And some pics of the parents? That Lesser on the right looks a bit like a Lesser Orange Dream to me....could explain the high oranges.

maybe the lesser was a platty daddy / "true" lesser platinum / lesser het daddy / whatever they call them.

i mean a lesser with that additional very weak brightening gene from the BEL complex.

then all offspring either gets the lesser gene, or that "het daddy" gene.

so yes, group pictures of all 5 offspring and pictures of the parents will help.


but then, its also possible that its all within natural variation of brightness and color, and that you had good luck with these softer polygenetic factors. Meaning you just got lucky and they turned out especially pretty and its nothing genetic.

mine came out pinky white, I think it's normal for their colors to vary.

The picture of the two Lessers is the perfect example of why its so dang hard to ID a Mojave and Lesser for me. :gj:
