Cutting Advice Needed Please.

Hi All,

I am in urgent need of some advice. I am on day 67 of my very first clutch, 3 of the 5 eggs started dimpling slightly a couple of days ago but the other 2 are still smooth, one of them being the boob egg and in fact that appears to have ballooned slightly! My dilemma is that I will be going away for the weekend on Friday leaving my grown up daughter in charge, Should I cut before going or will it be safe to leave them to pip naturally? I am very concerned about the Boob egg as I am not detecting any movement in it but can still see good veins.

What temps were they incubated at?

Are the eggs still sticking to each other or have they begun to separate?

You need to take more care of eggs once they are cut as you have to potentially deal with infection/ fungus getting in and the egg drying out too much.

So if you aren't going to be there I'm thinking letting them pip naturally would be best overall.

The 3 eggs that are dimpling are stuck together, the other 2 have always been separate. I have been incubating at 32c

I would just leave them be and let them pip on their own.

I incubate at the same temp and I didn't get pips until day 60-65. There have been a few members here who have had to wait until day 70 or later.

No worries, they are just making you wait :)

As for the boob egg, there is a chance the baby won't make it, but cutting the eggs vs. not cutting isn't going to matter too much :/

As an Update the first one pipped naturally today, much to my relief! I'm glad I didn't cut, was great to see his/her little head peeking out of the shell this morning. Pictures to follow in a different thread.

if one pips your good to cut all of them. once you do. before they crawl out, keep them moist dont let the yolk dry up, spray water on them once every few hrs. goodluck!
