    Skipping feedings during vacation
I am going on a 10 day vacation in 2 weeks. Will my snakes be ok for 10 days without a feeding if I feed them the day I leave? I know ball pythons can go a long time without eating but all 3 of my snakes are young and feed religiously every 5 days no skipped meals ever. I just do not want them to lose any weight or stress them. No one wants to do the job of feeding them except one person who lives pretty far away.

    Thanks

They will be fine for 10 days.
Just feed them a day or two before you leave.

Ok thank you. I feel bad not feeding them on time, every 5 days they come out of their hides like they know its feeding day and wait. As long as it wont stress them I will let them be until I am back.

I'm taking a 10 day vacation as well in a couple weeks. Granted my snakes sound bigger than yours (a 1300g BP and 500g 50% SD Retic), but my biggest concern isn't feeding, but water. Might want to have someone check and refill the water while you are gone, just to make sure they don't spill it or run out.

As long as they had food, water isn't an issue either. They get all their essential moisture from their food. Water in a dish is just a luxury of captivity. Its not like the snakes in Africa are taking trips down to the watering hole. Haha.

They can go 10 days easily without water.

as stated, they'll be fine without food. do you have a good thermostat though? i'm usually more paranoid about their temps. but im naturally paranoid. lol i usually have someone stop by once or twice to make sure nothing is overheating, even though all my heat is running on herpstats. just makes me feel better when i'm away.

Yes, I have a herpstat for my rack and I can have people check the temps and replace water but my mother and sister do not want to even think about feeding! They are scared to dangle a f/t mouse into the tubs still.
