Can anyone explain to me the nutrition difference in the ASF Rats and Regular Rats? Is one better than the other for feeders? I actually breed my own Regular Rats for my snakes, but was wandering if I should change to the ASF Rats.

I would not stop breeding regular rats to switch to ASFS. From a $$ standpoint regular rats are cheaper to raise. They are cheaper due to having a higher food consumed to bodyweight gain as well as saving you time and space by having a quicker growth rate. An adult soft fur is matched in weight by a few week old rat (think of the time and rack space it would take up to have to raise every single animal to their XL adult size). The only reason I have soft furs is in case I end up needing them (give them away at the moment, but want them on hand in case I get a very picky hatchling)

As far as the nutrition part to my understanding they are close enough. Kinda like the whole mouse/rat nutrition debate again LOL
