PSA: Get rid of your cheapo wheels

Just wanted people to be aware of the dangers of these types of wheels:

I usually get the solid plastic wheels, but after having multiple tubs chew them off the stand, I decided to give the metal wheels a go. Well, one of my asf got knocked off the wheel while another was running, and got caught between the stand and the spokes that attach the wheel. Poor little guy was beat up pretty bad, had to euthanize him.

Needless to say, I switched back to my old wheels.

ouch.. poor little guy. i have a plastic wheel in mine. had heard people say to get the metal ones because they'll chew up the plastic ones. haven't had that happen yet though.. and they're so cheap, might as well but another plastic one if it gets chewed up and avoid something like that. thanks for the heads up.

I don't like those wheels, the petco brand wheels are much safer if you don't want them chewing it to shreds:

Yeah that's the kind I was originally looking for. Unfortunately petsmart didn't have that type, just the crappy metal ones, my old plastic ones and the circular disk style-which were wayyyy over budget

Ohh crap!! I have that exact same wheel in with my asf's. I'm off to get a new one tomorrow!
