Questions for Juju, think I made a boo boo! :-/
Ok so this shedding process has me up in arms. I have a few questions...

    1) Yesterday I tried feeding her and after 15 min she only nipped at her food and took an extra few minutes of it lying there to actually eat it. I tried to give her the 2nd one later on like I normally do and she wouldn't budge....do I just wait till next week?

    2) while trying to get into her hide she pushed it against the glass so it tilted over...when I tried to fix it she hissed loudly at me, I fixed the hide and let her be. About an hour so later I opened the tank to check on her and mist and she hissed again, she's usually very docile and sweet. Is this normal during shedding?

    3) My final question...so my Hydrometer was showing 40% so I was misting to bumping up to 70...I went to Starbucks and came back to find that it's at 99% now! Is that ok? I feel so bad!!! Ahhhh poor Juju!

To get the best possible advice you will need to explain in detail how is she housed? Tank, tub, etc. Pics are always a great start to working thru husbandry challenges. ;)

    Mr Oni
    Its fine.

She ate so if she wants one then leave her be. Aka let her be till next feeding time.

A hiss is fine, she doesnt wanna be bothered.

Your humidity will drop. If it stays at 99 for over a day then yea drop that junk.

    1. Some BP's don't like to eat during shed. Just wait until next week.

    2. Some BP's get very defensive during shed. This is because they go partially blind during the process, and are tender (think sunburn)

    3. Ultra high humidity is fine for BP's as long as there isn't condensation forming in the tank due to it.

Here is a chart that shows the average high and low % humidity in the parts of Africa where BP's are from:

As you can see the humidity regularly gets into the 90%'s

So I took a few pics! She has a cool side with a hide and her water and then the warm side with a UTH a hide and the day lamp and night lamp that our timed to switch every 12 hours. I got a dimmer for the lamps and ordered a thermostat for the UTH. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/13/3ujy4uqu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/13/ba3eganu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/13/ata6eqeh.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/13/7asege5e.jpg

You need to unplug your UTH right now, 104 is dangerously hot.

And that is why pics are most often helpful. :)

The probe is inside or outside of the cage?
