    Anyone ever heard of using this? A local reptile store sells these for bp's , the bulb is inside the cage???

    Never ever, ever, ever. Put a heat lamp inside a cage with a ball python. Even with a screen around it the bulb will heat the screen and could potentialy burn your ball pythons. If its a flourescent light then its ok they do not produce alot of heat.
