    Tired of water bowls !!
I am tired of my snakes flipping over their water bowls. It never fails that every time I clean and give them fresh bedding at least 3 or 4 of them flip their bowl and soak the bedding. I was thinking about switching to deli cups. They seem so much easier. I was hoping that someone could give me some advice on (1) where is the best place to order them from (2) what size cup and what size pvc coupling to use (3) how is the best and safest way to attach the coupling to my tubs. I use the 41 qt. sterilite tubs if that matters. I would really like to get some of the tubs that have the holder built in, but that is not within my budget right now. I would appreciate any advice anyone could give me.

    Hi

You can get deli cups from your local Super market.
Use 4" couplings, 16 oz cups for adults and 8 oz cups for yearlings and hatchlings.
Don't need to secure coupling, it moves around and not easy for them to tip.

    regards
    John

What type are you using that are being flipped?

I use ceramic dog bowls and have never had one flipped. If you have them sitting on a substrate it is best to place the bowl on the cage bottom and then put the substrate around it so the snake will have a harder time getting under it. I Also have some tubs and cages with only newspaper and the bowls just move around when my snakes push them.

This is what we do also, you can find them at the dollar stores.
Every tub has one now and even our breader girls cant flip them.

Just buy the 4" coupling. You don't need to attach it to the tub, just set it in the tub, then fill the deli cup with water and drop it in the coupling. They will not turn them over. They are cheap, easy and convenient.

I got 2400 2oz deli cups off of eBay for .99 cent :D

Then 6 PVC couplers to hold the cups for about 1.50 a piece. LOVE THEM

ceramic all day and tomorrow too. Those tiny deli cups don't provide much in the way of humidity ...

My largest adults get ceramic dog bowls and none have been dumped. The smaller snakes get the large melamine bowls from dollar tree, and none of those have been dumped either. These guys are all in a 41 qt tub rack.
