Is it bad to take their hide?
So I was wondering if it was bad to remove the hide in order to get to your snake, such as in a case where I need to clean her cage and she is being stubborn or some of the like.
Re: Is it bad to take their hide?
Not at all.
I lift the hide, let them realise it is just me and I have no rats or mice for them. Then I pick them up and move them to a temporary tub while I remove and clean or change out everything I need to.
When the cleaning is done depending on their body language they either get some handling or a return to their familiar enclosure.

Yea, I do this to mine when I'm feeding or cage maintenance or just taking them out. If they don't like it then they've got no choice really, lol.

Yea, some of mine stay in the hide with only a head poking out.
