    Sticky stuff on snake.
So recently I forgot to put my screen lock back on my cage(Shame on me) but my girl got out, tore apart my house and just barely found her, she had this sticky stuff all over though and I have no idea what it is. In the room she was found in there is nothing sticky in there and I have tried to soak her and use a washcloth to try and get it off but nothing is helping.. Any suggestions on to how I can get it off without harming her?

Id probably just leave it. It'll probably be all good after she sheds.

How close is she to shedding? Maybe feed her a little more frequently to try and boost the growth so she can shed sooner perhaps? (not enough to get her sick or anything but enough to shorten the days between now and her next shed)

She shed like 2 weeks ago so it will be about another month if she follows her pattern

Id personally let her soak in a inch or two of Dawn for 10-15 minutes then Id scrub her down. You never know if what she has on her has harmful chemicals in it.

Try rubbing a little olive oil on it to see if that gets it off. Just a little! If it works, great, if not, no harm no foul.

Isopropyl alcohol will remove a lot of sticky stuff (great for tape residue or gunk from peeling off labels). Try gently wiping a small area as a test patch (do not soak her in it), if it works proceed very carefully keeping away from the face or vent and give her a thourough rinse afterward. I was able to unstick a cornsnake from a piece of duct tape this way once. Good luck and I'm glad you found her.

You can use mineral or olive oil to get sticky residue off. Wet a cotton ball with it and wipe down the sticky parts. Be sure to wash the whole snake with some soap and water (Dawn is ok) immediately afterward! And don't be alarmed if before the next shed, individual scales start flaking off. Those oils can be harsh on the scales, but as long as it doesn't sit too long and you wash the snake afterward, any damage will resolve with the next shed.

I would use olive oil on a paper towel and rub her from behind the head to tail a few times, then wet a towel with luke warm water and rub her the same way then I'd let her soak for a bit. If that doesn't do anything then I wouldn't worry about it if it's not affecting your snake.
