Rats nibbling the corners of the tupper
    Hello everyone,

I´m having some issues with my 1.2 rat group. A couple of days ago I noticed that two of the corners of the translucent tub were chewed up and I just dont know why they are doing that. Im planning on painting the tub black so they feel a little bit less stressed. Can anyone of you guys who have had this problem before could tell me what I can do to stop them from doing that. btw I have had the group for a couple weeks now and they havent had any babies, and they also dont look like they are pregnant. What could be the reason of them not breeding?

Thanks!, hope you guys have the time to reply to my post and give me some good advice!:):)
    Cheers

Put some stuff for them to chew on in the tub. Scrap wood works well.

Yeah, just keep them occupied and they should stop chewing. Wood, paper towel rolls, cardboard boxes, pretty much anything will entertain them lol. Now I haven't personally tried this, but I remember a thread awhile back that had good results with the 'No Chew' spray for dogs. If your rats are really bad chewers, I'd use that as a last resort.

On the non-breeding issue, is it possible they're too young? Or your stud could be a dud :). Good luck!

Thanks guys! I will try to put something in there for them to chew, and I will keep the news coming. Cheers

Isn't them chewing wood not a great thing? Unless they digest that stuff.

On the contrary, if they don't get wood or something hard to wear down their teeth, they can and will get overgrown to the point that they can't eat. I've seen it myself many times. Generally, this isn't an issue for people who feed lab block. But it can and will happen to those that rely solely on commercial pet store feed. Fun fact :)

Well thanks for giving me information that may be useful if I ever breed rats.
