My own thoughts: I like that she's a lighter yellow. A lot of the clowns I've beens seeing for sale already look brown. She's over 200g right now. I like her head pattern, I like how she's reduced but not reduced enough that you lose the teardrops, I like the white coming up through the teardrops, and I also like the dots that clowns have even though I know not everyone does.

I just keep coming back to her ad. I just don't want to spend a bunch of money on her without further opinion. So in your more experienced opinion, would she be something you'd start a project with?

Not as reduced as I like but she seems to be want you like. There was a lot of positives from you in your post so I think you already have the answer you are looking for :gj:. Bottom line is it is your taste that matters. I think it is a nice looking clown so I vote you should buy it and give your mouse a break from clicking on the ad.

If I was in the market for a Clown, I would buy that one. Why? The head stamp looks sweet, the flame transition from yellow to the tan is appealing to me, the dorsal is not too big a focus for me, but the minimal bands are especially with that cool speck of white peeking thru. The dots are not bad, but if you want them gone then start a project working with Harlequins :gj:. My two cents... :D

Like others have said, with morphs like clowns and pieds there isn't really a "standard" of what a high quality animal looks like. Some like busy patterns, others like reduced, Brighter vs Darker, high white or low white. I agree that her lighter color is appealing. I have a reduced pattern clown male that is a brighter gold/tan and has a wicked headspot. I don't think this girl will disappoint. :)

I would snap her up in a second! She's gorgeous to me :) love the contrasting colors on her. That transition from that flamey orange glow to the creamy tan color is a selling point for me. I'd get her if I were you, but it's your money and your taste.

Reduced, but not too reduced for my liking. That pattern would look awfully nice in black and white...;)

Marrissa I think Clowns are like Pieds everyone likes em different. I prefer a mid white Pied its all of what you like. I think shes a perfect example of mid range reduced clown and I couldn't agree better with you. All clowns tend to lighten up as most morphs do, If you like her I say go for it.

How ever any recessive mutation I rather have a visual male and het females.
