Already want a 2nd BP housing questions...?
Howdy all, first off thank you for all the hellos and shout outs! So welcoming. So I went all up on a terrarium for Juju Kaa. 20 gal tank, heat lamps, hides, tree to climb, the works. After spending so much time with her and doing research I just found out about morphs and the different types! Honestly some of them don't appeal to me, but the one that did catch my eye was the Black Pastel and the Black Pewter. At this point I can't afford one, but after seeing how easy and awesome my 1st one is I definitely want and 2nd. My question....I read and heard that you shouldn't house two BP's together so is there a cheaper way to house my 2nd one? I spent 143 on a kit from petsmart and got additional items. I don't wanna put her in a tub
While the other one is in this luxurious terrarium and I feel like the rack system would be silly for just two and then what happens to the terrarium I purchased. Any info or ideas would be helpful! I may be all over posting questions! Lol easy on the newbie please!

Rubbermaid or Sterilite Tubs... Better at holding heat and humidity than a tank and cost anywhere from $2.50 for a 6 Quart tub to MAYBE $20.00 for an adult ball pythons tub. The majority of people with multiple snakes have either racks or tubs. Yeah they don't look that great but they really don't look that bad either. Besides maybe building your own cage that's really the best way to go.

Hell, just buy a rack and fill it up...

If you don't want to go the tub/rack route and stay with the tanks I would wait until Petsmart (or Petco?) has their $1 a gallon sale and pick up a tank there. I use show boxes and plastic bowls for hides (with entrances cut) so that's some cheap ideas for hides and you can still put fake plants in there to make it look pretty (decorative plants at hobby/craft stores work fine for me: just wash them first and they're a lot cheaper than the plastic plants sold in pet stores). You should have a thermostat attached to your UTH (if you have one, disregard if you have just the lamps for heating) which you can probably make to work with both heat pads. I don't use heat lamps but I've ready that you need a dimmer with these too so they don't overheat (just throwing it out there). You can check CL too to see if people are selling cheap lamps or tanks. Some ideas so you're not buyng brand new/more expensive things.

Also I included a link for a better thermostat.

Heres a PM that I thought you'd like. Its a REALLY nice setup for two Bps. (or one REALLY big one) Inexpensive, aesthetic, stackable, and it holds stable humidity and heat well. The thread is a good read. It goes through his whole setup. I'm seriously considering getting one and just tossing mine on craigslist. (I'll keep the goodies inside of it of coarse) Although I don't think two snakes is going to cure my hunger... lol! I don't want a huge collection per say. So, i think if I had a few of these for a dozen or so snakes... Wouldn't that be an impressive setup? I do prefer viewing enclosures over rack systems, 10 to 1. With a super nice DIY tegu enclosure on the other side of the room, shelves on top for storage... I can see it nowwwww! I think I may need TWO man caves! :O

I hope this helps! Enjoy! :)

Animal Plastics Sterilite 1860 3-slot rack. 195 bucks plus shipping. Will house the ball you have now, the one you want next, and you still have one slot left to fill. Because you're now addicted and you will fill it...lol...we've all been there. :D

    Rack wise I'd recommend C Serpents. http://www.cserpents.com/C_Serpents/HOME.html

They are not to well known but I own one and it's great. Great pricing and 2 week shipping from order date.

Most of the popular rack/cage dealers the wait time could easily be 6-8 weeks. I had to cancel an order from Boaphile that was going on 11 weeks. Don't get me wrong, Boaphile makes some great stuff but I had snakes on the way and couldn't wait any longer. Found C Serpents and couldn't be happier. Can't wait to get some more snakes so I can buy another from them.
