    Multi day expos
Im getting to the point where I'm considering vending multi day Expos, Saturday and Sunday. In looking at their vendor guidelines, they say that security is provided overnight on Saturday. If you vend these types of shows, do you leave your setups overnight? Do you take your snakes out of the displays and keep them with you in the hotel, or do you leave them at the Expo overnight?

    What do you leave overnight?

We leave them there most of the time. So far never had an issue at all.

We usually leave them there. Each case is locked and table is covered up with a cloth cover. So far no problems. Good luck!

Are there single day expos? We only have ones around here that last all weekend.

The only issue I've ever had is that some venues turn the lights off and leave the AC running at night when you leave and after load in. I vended the New Orleans Repticon, I had to treat 4 RI's afterward because they ran the AC all Friday night after load in, all Day Saturday, all saturday night and all day Sunday.

Is there no way to keep the scale kids warm while over night to prevent things like RI, etc? I see power at all of the tables when I go to expos. Is this up to the individual to arrange or a safety no no by venue? Just wondering... Good thread.

I spoke with a fellow vendor at a one day expo yesterday that we both vended. He vends both Tinley and Daytona, as well as other multi-day shows. He leaves all of his animals in their displays, but covers them with a blanket overnight. You do have to make sure that they are secure, because if one escapes and is caught, it is auctioned off. It was helpful talking with someone with experience.

Around here, most Expos are one day - Richmond Expo, Hampton Roads Expo, Manassas Expo, Hamburg, etc. The closest two day expo that I know of is in Raleigh, which I may start doing along with some others a little further out. Thanks for the input! :gj:

I saw this post prior to taking off to the SA Reptile Expo this past weekend and chance has it that I asked "out of curiosity" this same question. One mentioned that he had 2 BP's get out and suspected that it was opened by another? He made reference to the same type of display cases ALL having the same lock and key. So it would be really easy for someone to do that. In his case, they locked the place down until the 2 were found. They found them. Should something like that be a concern for the young breeder looking to spread their wings? :confusd:
