Raising humidity

Help please, I have a wooden viv with front sliding glass doors. At the moment the humidity is only reaching 32, how can i raise it? Temps are 88 on warm side and 75 on cool side. The viv is a 2ft x 2ft x and i am using paper towels at the moment due to treatment for mites. Can i mist the tank

You sure can. Mist away.

When I was using paper towels in my wooden enclosures, I had the same problem...and wound up misting once per day, and changing towels every 2-3 days.

Once the mites are gone, I'd switch to cypress mulch. It retains humidity quite well, and I only have to mist once per week, TOPS.

What are you using to heat the cage? You can mist lightly, but don't want the paper towels to be wet, just damp. Also does it have any vent holes on the side, if so, block them up. Enough oxygen will pass through the doors. Once the mite problem is dealt with, try eco earth or something similar. Its great for holding humidity

I am using a heat bulb and there are rear vents top and bottom at the back of the viv. Thanks for replying i will block the vents at the back and see if it helps :)

Yeah the heat bulbs are a killer on humidity. I had a boa cage I built 4x2x2. I used a che, kept humidity much better.

Managed to get the humidity up to 60 not perfect but better than 32. Will have to try other source of heating instead of heat bulb. What is che? is that a ceramic heater? Got all the heat and humidity levels right for my corn snake and she is in a 3 x 2 x 2 viv. Can't seem to get it right for Cinder :(. Sorry for all the questions but i am new to keeping pythons. I have had my corn for 2 years with no problems x

Yes, that's a ceramic heat emmiter. They're not perfect either but they were the best source I could find with a cage that big for heat and humidity. If you keep your room a lot warmer than I did there are other options.

Hmm i think i will have to have a good look into this and see what the best option will be. My vivs are in my dining room which is off my kitchen and open plan. The weather has been quite hot recently but cooling now so the heating will be going back on soon. It will be quite warm here then.

It's getting cooler here too, I dread turning on my heat!!! I need to move somewhere warm!!! I'm sure you'll get it situated soon :)
