    Herpstat discontinued lines
I'm looking at buying a new thermostat, on ebay, it's a used herpstat and appears to be the original herpstat with a grounded plug.

Would this stat still be a good choice? It's proportional as I understand, and it good condition.

I doubt there'd be any warranty on it any more, but would spyder robotics be able to point me in the way of replacement parts or fuses still?

I think I'd stick to a brand new one. No warranty would worry me. A few extra dollars is worth the peace of mind.

On a related note.... my herpstat 2 is coming today!!!

Dion from Spyder Robotics has always made a fine product. I'd purchase a second hand Herpstat without hesitation. I run several of them and they are all "old".

I'd send Dion an email and ask him about replacement parts.

I'm still in the lead, they're a herpstat (the first model made) and a herpstat ND (the second model made).

I hear great things about their customer service, such as your recommendation, a lot. So, I think I'll be plenty satisfied.

I still have one of the original units going strong. Dion is nails down great with customer service. As stated previously, I agree with checking for spare items subject to fault to preserve the investment. That unit you mention has a resettable fuse built in, so not much may go wrong from where I'm looking. Best of luck... :gj:
