    Ultrasound Question!
Would this work for ultrasounding our ball pythons?
    http://www.risingmed.com/b2b_cpinfo.asp?id=1091
The help center lady said that any portable is no good for snakes because their skin is thick.
I saw may breeders use these small portable ones, so I got confused.
Also if you can what kind of probe would work with it?

    Any help appreciated!

    Thanks.

    Re: Ultrasound Question!
Portables are perfectly fine, if not better. I use one very similar and have had great results so far, just make sure you get the one with a 7.5 Mhz Linear probe. Since you won't be using it every day you can store it away easier since its portable.

    Re: Ultrasound Question!
I agree with starsky, I would also recommend a better probe. this one comes with a 80 elements R60, 3.5MHz multi-frequency convex probe. I use a 96 element 7.5 multi-frequency linear probe. the higher the frequency the more detail the image is. but you will lose depth. which isn't a factor with snakes. the 3.5 is a good frequency for ultrasounding pregnant women more than snakes. with the price of an ultrasound, the probe takes up a big part of it. do your research on them before buying, it's a big investment. mine was a little over 3000 and well worth it. no regrets.
