    Herpstat question
Can you use 1 Herpstat on more than 1 tank? Or do you have to have 1 Herpstat for each snake?

A herpstat 1 can control multiple cages as long as heat sources are identical and the cage is set up similarly.

1 herpstat to 1 heat source is the safest, but more than one can be done.

In a rack there a typically multiple strips of heat tape like Flexwatt or THG heat tape all wired together into a single circuit that gets plugged into the thermostat with the probe adhered to one heat strip. The same principal is involved using multiple under tank heaters(UTHs). You simply plug them all into a power strip and plug the power strip into the thermostat. Once again, all heat sources must be the sane size/wattage size for equal power output.

CAUTIONARY NOTE: Do not exceed the Herpstat 1's 500 watt power limit.

It can be done, but I honestly wouldn't do it, for the simple reason if one heat source failed and it upped the power to try to compensate it could really roast something.

HerpStat 1 has 700w output and the HerpStat 2 has 900w.... 500w each channel max.

I would just get enough heat tape to heat both tanks and control it with the HerpStat, although it would be more better to build a small rack out of melamine and get some tubs instead of the tanks.

I use tubs for all my BP's. My King is in a tank. I was just wandering for future knowledge.

What is your heat source? The thing is that both heat sources have to be the same watt/identical. For example, identical heat pads, or 6 watt flexwatt and 6 watt flexwatt.

If you are using two different heat sources and controlling them with only one thermostat make sure you put the probe on the first heat source in case there is a failure.

My heat source is the room. I have them in a bedroom with a heater set to keep the room close to 85 degrees. Its not the best setup, but its what Ive got for now.
