    Just as long as the screen is strong enough to hold up the lamp. I feed Rats to my ball python.

    i wuld think it puts off heat, but it wuldnt reflect it in the right direction i dont think. dont try to cheat your way out of it, go buy a heat lamp. IMO if you aint gonna do it right, dont do it at all

    Good question, Tiger. Chica, too much light can stress out a ball python since they are nocturnal by nature. If you want a lamp to provide heat, you can get a fairly cheap ($5-$10) utility light hood at WalMart that will do a much better job than an ordinary house lamp. I would suggest using an infrared bulb, however, so that you don't stress out the snake.
