    How can i provide my ball python with belly heat in my homemade wooden enclosure? I have a zoo med heat pad can i still use it?

    Yes but you NEED A THERMOSTAT. It's an absolute MUST. An unregulated heat pad WILL kill your snake.

    I use a herpstat, it's expensive, but I care too much about my snakes to have a thermostat that isn't trust worthy.

    The coolest and most innovative custom bp wodden encloser was one i saw on YouTube, where a guy cut out a 12 by 12 square on the bottom of one corner and installed a ceramic tile in its place, thus creating a safe spot to apply the heat pad to to bottom of the enclosure. This is great bc you dont have ro worry about a possible fire hazard. I use a thermostat found on lll retiple for 90 dollars. Vivarium electronics. Its a simple yet must have to ensure your bp isnt getting overheated. Hope this was helpful :).
