Can you induce breeding in virgin BPs?
Just a quick question. I was wondering if it was possible to induce breeding in virgin Ball Pythons? For instance it is my understanding that a cooling period is not completely necessary, and virgin males and females can be paired whenever one feels like it and they will start the breeding process. Is this true? So when a female gets to weight put a male in and she will be induced into breeding, ovulation and building and so forth? Can anybody weigh in on this?

Yes, ball pythons can and will breed at any time of year, cooling is not necessary. You are the most likely to get breeding activity if you put them together while in a low pressure zone (right before a thunderstorm or a snow storm or heavy rains etc...) But remember that just because you see breeding doesn't mean you'll get eggs.

I've tried breeding year round and haven't had any luck with it. My girls only seem interested between October and May. I have been trying to breed a few girls all year that didn't go, but I bet you money they won't start locking again until next month.

Quickest way to induce breeding is to put them together.
