    THG Heat Tape Question.
Just a quick question for all you rack users who use heat tape. What size heat tape do you use? Right now for my 32 quart tubs I have them sitting on 4 inch heat tape. But I'm looking into putting my big adult in a 41 quart, what size heat tape would you recommend for one? I was thinking 6 inch, or would 4 inch still do the trick?

Because of the way that I have designed my racks I'm useing the 12" on all of mine even the 28qt racks.

I use 4" on my 41qt tubs, 32qt tubs, and 15qt tubs. It seems to get the job done.

I used to use the 4" on all my tub sizes, but if I was going to make another rack I'd use 12" for my adult females. When they coil over the 4" tape, it barely heats half of their bodies.

We use 4" wide heat tape on our racks that use belly heat. It seems to work well and have never had any problems.

We use 12" on the 41 qt tubs so there's plenty of space for both a warm side hide and the water bowl when the snake starts shedding and we want to bump up the humidity in that tub.

I'll have to request larger heat tape when I get my next racks.

Excellent! Thank you guys for all your input. I think I'm going to roll with the 4 inch again, especially since you guys haven't had any issues using it with a 41 quart tub.

All my racks whether they use 6 quarts / V18 / 32 Quarts or V70 tubs use 4 inches strips.
