What the heck is going on with my THG heat tape?
Well I am using 12" heat tape for my snakes right now, and so far it's been great, I'm just confused on something. I have my tape hooked up to my herpstat 1, with the herpstat probe taped directly to the tape. My herpstat is set at 92, and says it is holding there greatly. But I just took my temp gun (PE-2 by Pro-Exotics) and hit my heat tape with it, and it says the heat tape is at 104!!! But my hot spot (inside the tub) is at a great 90. So I'm just so confused, hahah what the heck is going on? I trust both devices so I guess this is my confusion.
The probe isn't under a tub, it is taped alone on the tape. Sooooo any ideas?
