ID & Price Check Please!

OK, this is a boa that's on Cl & I covet it greatly. Its listed as an Argentine hypo-salmon. I know nothing about boa morps. What should I expect to pay for an adult like this one?

its a hypo imo as for argentine i'm not seeing it but you'll have to wait on evenstar or daybreaker to give their thoughts. They would have a better idea than me. I wasnt aware that aregentines had any other morphs besides motley or t+ so.... yeah wait on one of those other 2 for a better idea.

Hypo isn't a morph found in pure Argentines, so at most this is some sort of cross (I've seen the Hypo Colombian x Argentine boas called "Salmontines" by some). I can see some argie influence in the face structure but since I've never seen a hypo Argentine/Colombian cross adult I can't say for a price or whatnot. I'm into purities so I wouldn't pay much for this snake personally, so I say it's worth whatever you want to pay for it. What are they asking?

Male or female?

100% hypo that's for sure. Salmon is a line bred form of hypo. It's hard to say whether it is or not because many people use "salmon" as the word hypo. It's is most definitely a nice looking hypo boa though, very deep reds and oranges. And it appears to have some good size. If it's female I would pay $250. Male I would pay $150. I haven't kept up on prices lately though. I do know hatchlings go for $100 ish.

Now as far as it being an argentine, it wouldn't be pure. It could be a cross, but I don't see that whatsoever

They don't say. They want to trade it for "hog elimination devices". I just want to know if its out of my budget lol

No clue on the gender either. But it would be a pet/display animal, so gender is a non-issue.

Hmmm, I'd shoot them an email then and see. Sorry I can't give a rough price range; I just don't see many adult argie crosses/Salmontines for sale.

Side by side there is definitely noticeable differences

Thanks! Revo the Argie is a August 2011 baby and about 4'

Jericho the Colombian is a June 2010 baby and about 6 1/2'

Though it depends on the individual, I see that (most) Argentines have thicker and shorter heads than (most) Colombians.
