Ball is weezing, sneezing or farting!?

So the other night I heard my ball make a strange sound and dont know if I should be concerned about breathing problems. For guys who know their farts, it sounds like a short squeaker fart. Noticed it the night I fed her but noticed it again the past 2 nights. Is she just having bad dreams or what? :/

You might want to check your temps, noises from breathing can be a sign of respiratory diseases. Just check if the noise comes from the mouth or from another part of his/her body. I dont think he/she is having bad dreams since balls are night snakes so they are active in the night and not sleeping. Cheers

What I would do is take her out and put her close to your ear and listen for awhile. If it's a RI then you should hear a wheezing/popping sound.

Just for peace of mind what are your temps and humidity levels at?

Current temps. 86hotside, 78 cold side an 64% and she has currently been chillin on the cold side for a few days now.

I'd bump the hot spot to a minimum of 88 degrees which should raise your ambient temp to 80 which would be okay for the cool side. I don't like the temps getting in the 70's, but that's more my preference.

Also with the humidity, it's better to have it warm versus cool. I have some that stay on the hot side and some that stay in the middle and one or two that stays on the cool side. They know when to regulate themselves and all so I wouldn't worry about it.

x2 on bumping temps, could be the starts of an RI. Hot spot of 88-90, cool no less than 78, ambient around 80 is my setup.

Did your ball just come out of a shed? I just took my pastel to the vet because I thought she had RI. But the vet said she's healthy and that he rarely sees cases of RI around this time of year, he sees more of them during winter. It's possible that he can have skin stuck in its nose. I just soaked her in a bath a couple times and she stopped showing any breathing problems. Guessing she just had some stuck shed. Does your ball open its mouth to breathe? If so something is obstructing its breathing. Could just be stuck shed.. or built up mucous, or bad husbandry. Double check your husbandry and try to open its mouth and look around. If you see excess mucous around the roof of its mouth, its a RI. And if you're still unsure, get to a vet. Its better to be safe rather than sorry! I wish you the best!
