stuck shed

morning everyone, i just woke up to an almost perfect second shed. so yay lol i know how to deal with getting the rest off, but im wondering is it completely my fault it was not one whole piece ? or does that happen from time to time ?

It's the humidity levels that mostly determin that. For me, because I use a tank, it does happen from time to time. Most on here think you are the devil if you use a tank...that reason being one of them. Try to maintain humidity levels (especially when coming up on shed)and all should be well. Stuck eye caps or other skin? use a qtip and all natural vegetable oil. works every time.

An old trick we use is to put several very damp paper towels in their tub overnight. Usually by morning they will have crawled all through and over them and the extra water usually gets all of the left over shed off. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Yes, it is completely your fault.

Raise the humidity as soon as you notice your snakes colour dull out. If you miss that, then raise it when the eyes go "blue"/white

If you have a glass tank with a screen on top, your humidty will generally be too low to have regular complete sheds. A very easy way to fix that is to cover most of the screen to retain the humidity better. I have found that keeping a piece of pleather (fake leather) that is the size of the screen on top seems to keep their humidity at a nice level to ensure complete sheds while looking attractive and providing adequate ventilation.
