Gosh now I want a sunglow BCI!

Well thanks to all of you bad influences out there, I've fallen in love with the sunglow BCIs. I've promised myself that I will only have 1 boa, since it will only be a pet, because I am stocking up on ball pythons to breed in a few years. Problem is, I currently have a dumerils boa. But aesthetically speaking, I think the sunglows are much more attractive. Size isn't an issue which hasn't helped in my predicament. And I think a sunglow would make a much better display snake.
But my dumerils being my first boa, and having her for over a year now, I feel a sentiment towards her. Gosh I'm so torn!! Please tell me someone else has been in the same position!

Thats an easy fix! Get the dumerils a boy/girl friend. then get yourself a sunglow male and a motley het albino female. That way its not "just" a pet. its a business investment! problem fixed. haha :P

You are SO NOT HELPING THE SITUATION hahaha
If I could have them I would. But recently I've thought about selling my dumerils and getting a female sunglow. Just looking for a better, good sized display snake.

you will regret getting rid of your dum if you do! They have completely different personalities than red tails! I love both but I'd never give up my big dum girl!

You might have just convinced me to keep my dum! Mine is only about 4 feet now, when she gets older I will her her a nice PVC cage. Right now she burrows all the time and you never see her. Will she make a good display snake as she gets older?

my big girl never burrows but then again I dont give her enough aspen to completely hide. she was a rescue and when I first got her I didnt see her for at least a month! now she comes to the front of her enclosure everytime I come in the room. Shes my favorite boa ever! i've had lots of red tails and havent ever had one that seemed to beg for attention.

What size enclosure is she in? And how big is she?

shes 6'7" 45 lbs. shes in an iris ve 175 tub 52"L x20"W x12"H. they are Christmas tree boxes that you can find at walmart during the winter months.
