Can y'all help me with a computer problem?
My computer (HP Compaq dc7700p Convertible Minitower) no longer recognizes my speakers. When I turned on my old ones, I could hear faint sound coming out of the subwoofer, but no sound from the speakers. I thought they were shot so I bought a new set today but those don't work either! I reinstalled the Realtek sound driver off the HP website but still nothing. What's odd is that when I plug in my USB headset I can get sound from that.

When I go to the Control Panel and go to Sound and Audio Devices, NOTHING can be chosen except for in the Hardware tab, but everything I click on in that tab just tells me it's "working properly".

The speakers I have now are Gigaware 8w 2.1 Multimedia Speakers.

I can certainly help you, but it's very annoying to explain stuff over the PC. I've been fixing computers and building them since I was a kid. I walked SlitherinSisters(mod) through fixing her own computer and all. I can help you for sure but you're going to have to give me a call so I can diagnose what I'm almost positive the issue is then I can walk you through it. If you don't mind calling me then send me a PM and I'll give you my phone number or you can wait for some other people to try to help you but I'm 99.9% sure I already know what the issue is.
