    double sire
    is it possible for spurm from both males getting into 1 egg ? if i double sire a clutch say fire and pied to pastel .. will all the clutch come out het pied or just the some or does it depend ???

    No. Its possible to have two or more males to sire a clutch, but not individual eggs. Only one sperm is able to fertilize an egg. Only some will be Het Pied and some will be fire, but not both.

    Chimeras can occur, but not common. This is when two fertilized eggs or embryos fuse together into one being.

    nikki i feel like u alway answer my questions .. what would i do without u lol ... yeah thats what i figured .. and u were right about the rat he had a r.i figures hes the only one i got from petco .. cool thing was they give some 15 day thing so i brought him back and they took him to vet and they are keeping him for 10 days

    Hope your rat pulls through. Petco is pretty shady sometimes with their live animals.

    yea i know they are but where i live its hard to find people that breed things and thats the only pet store i got lucky on the 2 females i got but i even think the people i got them from got them from petsmart in another town .. but eveything should be good hopefully

    Just to add.

    You would not be able to be certain of the sire of any normals and pastels in that clutch.

    That's why it is not recommended to play "who's yer daddy" with any recessive gene males - you cannot say for sure you have a 100% het.

    The only exception would be if you used a super form of the codominant gene like a black eyed leucistic.
