whats a good size for a homemade ball python enclosure??

i wanna make a forever enclosure for my ball python she is only 7 months old so what would be a good size i was thinking a 4x2x2?

The size of your enclosure should be relative to the size of your snake. A smaller BP will need a smaller cage, and you'll need to upgrade to a bigger cage as she grows. They're most secure in smaller spaces, so putting a baby in an adult sized cage doesn't necessarily make them happy, just tends to stress them out more because theres too much space. How big is she at 7 months?

about 2.5+ feet long i dont know how much she weighs

I'd recommend making one that's 4x2x1 and dividing it down the middle so you can have two. :) It'll be big enough to house all but the biggest adult females even when divided in half. For reference, Animal Plastics makes one exactly this size called the T8 that is a very popular pre-made PVC cage for BPs.

Additionally, I have an adult female housed temporarily in a 40gal aquarium, 36x16x18 inches and it's honestly way too big for her. She's about 3000grams and roughly 4.5ft. Most of my adults are in 41qt sterilite tubs and quite happy with the space, roughly 36x16x6 inches in dimension.
Floor space is more important than height since they spend most of their time on the ground but they arent very active and usually prefer to chill out in their hides so they actually don't need alot of space to move around in. Extra space is generally wasted with them since they dont use it much.
Whatever size you end up with, maybe in the meantime while she is growing you can like make a divider to block of some of the space and keep her habitable space small and proportionate to her size and just move it as she is growing? I had a wooden divider similar in one of my bigger tanks seperating it into 2 and worked great.

My plan for the cage was to put a shelf in so that it is like doubling the floor space
