    noob poop question?
Hi my 5 month old bp who I've had for a little over a week has today done her third poo, they look normal as far as I can tell with wee also, is this normal? I have heard weekly, 6 weekly, but 3 times one week?

She missed a feed Wednesday that I put down to stress and new home, I also changed her from aspen to orchid bark when I got her.
but she is settling in nicely,

Ambient temp 24ish, hot side 28-32. Rh 55/60

    No other signs, looks great.

    All comments greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance!

Is it really poo, or is it urates? The urates will be a yellow/white chalky discharge and the poo will typically be brown and, well, poo-looking lol. 3 poops a week seems a bit high. Has she has a vet check to rule out parasites?

Yep definitely poo lol. No vet check as of yet,

Would it just be the case of taking a stool sample in for them to test?

    Thanks

Yeah you can usually just do a fecal sample, I personally like to have the vet check out the animal as well. You need to make sure the sample is really fresh lol. I'd be a little concerned if it's watery stool. Mine usually look like mini dog poo. Or sometimes large dog poo haha.

It is a bit odd I must admit. Your husbandry seems to be OK. Perhaps this is just a one-time thingy she does, but I wouldn't risk it. At least start with handing in a stool sample. Best of luck to you and your little girl :)

Thanks everyone, I am lucky enough to live literally a stone's throw away from my vet!
Poo is not runny, last one looked a little gray.

Hopefully she will settle down but if she does another in a day or so I'll take her in ;-)

just to clarify this could be stress of new home? And is definitely not normal.

    Thanks

It definitely could be the stress of a new home. My first ball was very pissy for a while until she chilled out and then she let me knew she was very hungry lol.
