    quick question
    new to the rat breed thing .. my question is my male is kinda like making this squeeking/ sneezing noise the 2 females are not making it, now i heard him do it a little b4 but then a little while ago i introduced him to the females and he started doing it like crazy .. what does that mean ? he is on different bedding then from where i purchased him i was thinking that might b it but i have no clue .. any help would be appreciated

    Sounds like the start to a respiratory infection.

    What kind of bedding and set up do you have?

    You can get some Tetracycline antibiotic powder from the fish section of a petstore. It runs about $13 and comes in packets of 10(500mg each).
    Pour one packet into a 16oz water bottle and mix well. Quarantine your male and give him the antibiotic water mix. Change water ever day or every other day for 1-2 weeks. If it's not too advanced, his RI should clear up in 2+ weeks.

    i got them in a 40 gal breeder tank i split the tank have females on one side male on the other .. got the male from petco go figure the females i found on craigslist but i couldnt find no male i really dont have nothing to quarantine him in u think he will be fine? theres a a thick piece of plex glass that seperates the the 2 sides and he had no contact with them unless i put them together .. there on aspen bedding was the only thing i could find around here .. i was trying to put a pic up but i cant find my thing to load it to the laptop .. i will go tomorrow and get that stuff and try that
