Dimpled Eggs

Today is day 7 for my first clutch and three of the eggs have started to dimple (bad, I know!). At first I was not using any press-n-seal and after about day 4 I noticed these three starting to dimple. So, right before I left for the NARBC, I added more water and added some press-n-seal. I pulled the eggs out today to candle them and all of them have healthy veins. There's standing water and condensation on the tub so I know it's humid enough (also...the eggs aren't touching the edge of the tub, the picture angle just makes it seem like that). I even saw movement in one of the eggs.

My question is this: is there anything else I need to do to prevent the dimpling from getting worse? Can it be reversed?

Two questions...what's up with the straws? Earthquake prone area? :D And why bother with any substrate at all if you're just going to fill it up with so much water? Good luck...it's certainly an interesting way to go about it...

The straws are just so they don't roll around in the box. I'd rather be OVER cautious with these eggs than not cautious enough. Some of them are not stuck to the others so I just wanted to make sure they stay all together.

As for the water, I thought I had PLENTY before the eggs started to dimple. So I added more then realized it was more than enough. I guess I just use substrate so the water doesn't josh on the eggs. These are my very first eggs and I don't want anything to happen to them. Just call me overly cautious, I guess.

I did my clutch almost the same way. Mine started to dimple bad in the first week. All still look great with good veins and today is day 51.

As long as you have a bunch of water in there they should be fine. I don't use press-n-seal at all.

Here is a clutch a week before I cut them, you can see how soaked my substrate is. Really the substrate is just in there to keep the water from splashing on the eggs when I move the tub.

On thing you can do if you really want to is take a damp paper towel and place it over the eggs but in reality you don't need to. They should be just fine as long as you keep the humidity up.

That's what my substrate looks like up close. It's full to the brim with water. I guess the tub wasn't air tight even though it had a locking lid. I went ahead and put the press-n-seal on it. Hopefully they all do well from now on. I was just worried about the dimpling and didn't want there to be another problem that I wasn't aware of.

The humidity is as high as I can get it. I -think- they'll be okay. I just wanted an opinion with a little more experience than mine to make sure all was well. I've got another clutch due to drop any day and I want to make sure they are incubated perfectly.

And just for fun, here's the video from today. This little gem was moving around in the egg. I grabbed my phone to take a video and it stopped moving. :( However...it did flutter towards the end.
