What to mix with a pastel jungle?
I have a pastel jungle ball python, she's only 2 months so it's going to be a LONG time before she's going to be bred, but I want to buy a male for her right now so she can kinda grow up with her mate. So I was wondering, what's a cool morph to breed to a pastel jungle?

Also, I will not be housing them together.

    The Serpent Merchant
Pastel works well with just about any morph. I would recommend any of the following:

    • Spider
    • Fire
    • Yellowbelly
    • Black Pastel
    • Lesser
    • Mojave
    • Butter
    • Another Pastel
    • Enchi
    • Pinstripe

All of these are co-dominate/dominate morphs so you should be able to produce something cool on the first breeding.

For a more long term project, here are some recessive morphs. These will take multiple breedings to get something new (visually) but can really produce some cool snakes:

    • Pied
    • Clown
    • Axanthic
    • Hypo

The possibilities are endless! If you can invest in a multi-gene male, I would go for it.

    Some questions to ask yourself:

Do I like light or dark colored morphs?
    Busy pattern or reduced pattern?
    Recessive or dom/co-dom traits?

I think pastel lesser/butters are quite nice! Same goes for pastel calico... pastel champagne..
