What type of substrate does everyone use in their racks? Does anyone have a preference?

Cypress is my main substrate. Newspapers come next if I run out of cypress, both are pretty easy to clean. I like the cypress more than aspen because the particles don't get as dusty.

I use both aspen and newspaper/paper towels for my snakes both in and out of racks: some like to burrow in the aspen but the paper towels are easier to clean.

We used paper towels but switched to unprinted news paper (packing paper from U-Haul).

Newspaper all the way. I'm yet to find someone to sell me unprinted newspaper. Oh well. Works great, easy to clean, doesn't cost much (if anything at all).
