What to do.....
Sooooo......looking for some advice from y'all
A friend of mine recently broke up wih his girlfriend for good. However, this has forced him to begin selling his animals. He has 2 het for pied (hitch I am assuming present as normals) and one spider BP that currently have nowhere to go, and he's liquidatin them Muy Pronto.
He offered the spider to me for $200...said he paid 400 for it a year ago. I really want to get a visual morph BP...spiders look pretty cool. My dilemma is that I have BARELY convinced my folks to let me have one snake, Im trying to sell them on gun ownership/hunting....In short Im kinda stretching them (and myself) thin when it comes to more expenditures. We're not going broke or anything, just a lot of interests.
Mycroft (my current BP) is housed in a tank (should have gone with a tub rack...then I wouldn't be in this situation), so I don't really have anywhere to house a new snake. I just would hate for the snake to go to someone who won't fully appreciate the uniqueness of the morph, or to end up on Craigslist.
Any thoughts from you guys would be appreciated :)

You could look into getting a T8 from Animal Plastics, get a divider and it can house two Ball Pythons.

Well, first off, I wouldn't pay that for a spider unless it was sexed as female. If it's male, talk him down to $150. Unless he's a really great friend, and you want to help him out financially, that is. I love my spider. Hands down, my favorite dominant base morph.
Secondly...a rack is pretty easy to acquire if you keep your eyes open. Hey, look! there's one now-

About your folks- you live under their roof, but you're a big boy. I'm assuming they're reasonable people, and since you're paying for your hobbies, and I assume helping out with the bills...I don't see the big deal. If you really want another bp, and they're at least begrudgingly allowing it, get it. A tub is super easy to set up. But yeah, you are getting into a lot of things at once- so you need to analyze what's most important to you, and/or what have time constraints on them.
Be rest assured, though, there are plenty of good owners out there. If you're just worried about your friend's ability to rehome his animals, offer to sell them for him so you can screen potential owners.

I'm not sure about the weight...I'll need to check and see.
I don't think it would be; he's the same friend I bought my other snake from, and Mycroft has gotten quite a lot bigger. I don't think the finances allow him to feed as often as he should.
@Anya–I'll have to check with my parents and see. And I like the consignment idea...maybe I'll talk I him about it

I would pass on a spider at that price that has possibly not been given the best care and is underweight.

Send him to the east coast and he will be in a great home :D
On a for real note, possibly work out a deal with your friend where the snakes enclosure is included. Kinda helping you help him out.

As far as the price goes for that spider, $200 is a lot. I get wanting to help a friend out, but that goes both ways. Regardless of what he paid, it's only worth the market value.

Well, official verdict is: NO.
Parents very firm...ad I kinda agree. Too many other things I'm tryin to do. I'll see about trying to consign the guy maybe though...
