Is this normal behavior? also, metallic eyes
I've been keeping a towel over her enclosure and ever since I held her last she's been more active and chilling with her head out like this for hours at a time. do they get more comfortable and feel less like hiding? or is she being weird

also, her eyes are so cool looking, almost metallic? is this normal in butters?

How long have you had her? She may be feeling safe enough to keep an eye on her surroundings. Have you got her husbandry worked out?

I've had her since July 6 and she was born on June 7. Her humidity is at about 60% and the temp is 80 with a Uth under the hide she is poking out.

By 80 do you mean ambient temp? That's good, but she'll need a hotspot of 88-92, regulated by a thermostat or dimmer switch.

it's day time, shouldn't she be sleeping?!

If she's being active, she's probably uncomfortable. Check her hotspot, it may be too warm for her to be comfortable in her hide. Most UTHs get far too hot for comfort without a thermostat wired into it.

    Do you have a thermostat?

yeah I meant ambient temp and her heating pad gets pretty hot but I regulate it with a thermostat and she always goes to hide in the cool spot anyways? I'll take temps of the hot side later

also she isn't being active right now I think because its day time. and keep in mind I have a towel over it with a little light peeking through the bottom by where she is putting her head..

Just wondering, but do you have a full body pic of her? She kinda looks like aa mojave to me.

As for the hiding, or lack thereof, could be a few different things. She could be hungry, maybe time to bump up prey size, are her hides appropriately sized? Or, she could just be goofy. Pretty sure there is an entire thread of bps misusing hides and being goofy. :D
