I feel like an idiot, and yes, I am in fact blonde....
So for the last few weeks my laptop has been really ticking me off. The internet was super slow, I had to refresh pages 5-6 times if they had ads or any other garbage on them. My laptop kept restarting randomly, I had no clue what was wrong other than maybe some flippin virus. Well....this morning I remember that I bought TuneUp Utilities 2013 a while back and gave it a whirl. Well wouldn't you know it, I run a scan and it pretty much says: "Uh, yeah...so you have 84,000 things of nonsense saved on your internet browser, you should clean that up now." Of course I'm paraphrasing, but I can read between the lines! So I let it clean up the nonsense and now my laptop is fast as lightening

    Go me! :number1:

Anyone else have a fun story to make me feel better, or maybe some advice on how to better live in this century? :P

I had too many fans connected to my wifes power supply in her desktop, which caused the voltage to the graphics card to drop. This made the display driver fail and recover periodically making PC gaming impossible for like three days.

Oh man...I should probably check on that myself. My laptop is plugged into a surge protector that runs a fan, a lamp, my cell charger, our dust buster charger, and a thermostat for the sand boa cages....poop. I didn't even think about that, thanks for the heads up! See, I knew I needed some advice on living in this century ;)

True story that make you go duh

Part of my job is to troubleshoot computer issues (software and hardware) at different locations that I oversee.

Best call I ever had "I turned the computer on but nothing happens, the screen is black"

First thought and thing coming out of my mouth, "Did you turn the monitor on?"

And sure enough the answer is "no, but I am now and itīs working"

I feel bad asking those questions to people, but the situations like that where it WAS the case make me just laugh hard.

My favorite tech support frustration dialog I heard once:
    Quote:

Sir, tell me. Do you have any children?
You do? A little girl? How old is she?
11! That's great! Could I speak to her please?
    *Girl gets on phone*
Hi! I am so-and-so from tech support. What's your name?
Well, your Daddy is having problems setting up his email. Could you do me a favor of look at his SMTP settings? That's great! Thanks.
*girls fixes problem without any help*
Thanks for your help dear. Oh, and if your Mommy or Daddy ever have a problem like this again, tell them it's broken and to give the computer to you to play with and that they should go out and buy a Mac because they are specifically designed for idiots....I mean Mommies and Daddies.
Alright, you have a good day!

Never!!!! Macs are alright computers on function alone, but I am not willing to pay DOUBLE THE PRICE for a computer with the same interior components as my own. (Yes, I have customized a MacBook Prowith the same specs as my HP Envy DV6, the envy was 950, apple 2 grand ) You are paying for the shiny rounded corners and an OS geared towards idiots who can't take the tiny amount of time needed to figure out windows. That is my take at least, would love other opinions.
