Categorical Exclusion: Time Extended for Comments

Listen up!

The Feds have extended the input time for public comments as it pertains to the proposed Categorical Exclusion proposal by the USFWS. If passed, the USFWS will be allowed, and have the sole authority, to add ANY species to the list of injurious animals just because they want to without due process of real science and economical/social surveys afforded under the law.

This is EVERYONE'S responsibility! We now have until September 30th 2013 to have OUR voices be heard. Follow the link to the USARK website and follow the procedures. After you do that, please take the time to hand-write a letter to your Congressman/Congresswoman. Every single voice is important. If you don't speak up, you WILL lose your rights as a herp and animal lover. We need everyon'e input. Flood their inboxes, jam up their phone lines. Once is not enough...send one a day to your rep and to the USFWS until September 30th.

Not to jump the gun but I feel like this is a good sign :) Definitely going to keep encouraging people to sign

i hope this is a good sign as well. i'll be attending our local repticon in mid september and plan on taking a petition there with me and getting as many people to sign as i can. i urge others to do the same at their local shows. a hand signed petition with a bunch of names on it and a personalized letter to your representative would be a sure way to catch their attention.
