How Do You Qualify For SYR?
Im sure there is a thread explaining it somewhere, but i cant seem to find it. I am just looking to be able to ship through SYR. I know there is some kind of qualification process involving packing techniques and such. Thanks for any help :)

You make an account, and that is about it. You are trusted/responsible for packing your own animals. They simply give you a set of guide
lines and you must follow them, like no dry Ice, no venomous reptiles etc.
please take extra time to make sure your animals are nice and snug, AND ALWAYS CHECK WEATHER CONDITIONS BEFORE!

There is no qualification to use SYR. In order to get Fedex Certified you have to go through some steps and it is stickied in this forum.

Send me a $200 licensing fee and you'll be shipping in no time! :D

No, but just contact them, they'll walk you through everything. No qualifications required.

    ^this.

My first time shipping through SYR was nervewrecking for me simply because I had never shipped a snake before and I was worried I might miss a step and my snake not arrive at it's new location alive and well. However, Andy walked me through the steps to make sure I had everything done correctly before I sent the snake on the plane. I had a great experience and I would recommend them to everyone! Robyn also posts on the forum here a lot. I'm sure he'll chime in here pretty soon!

Thanks for the responses everybody. I'm really looking forward to building my hobby and being able to reach out of state to other hobbyists :)

Your first time shipping it can seem a bit daunting, but it is actually a pretty straightforward process.

Check out the ShipYourReptiles Get Help page, it will answer questions for you on packaging and temperature considerations, and walk you through the process. Feel free to contact us directly if you have specific questions.

You don't have to be FedEx certified to ship live reptiles through ShipYourReptiles, but you do have to agree to meet our SYR Shipping Standards, which meet the FedEx standards as well. Let us know if you have any questions!
