    Weird Behavior
    Hey everyone,

My ball python is crawling around her cage a lot and poking her head the top of the tank like shes wants out she doesnt do it very often and at night i will turn off her overhead heat light and she will wrap around it and bang it off the glass tank. Its kind of annoying because im trying to sleep Im just wondering why she is doing that. She is 3 1/2 year old female with a 90 gallon glass tank and she gets fed live rats every 2 weeks or so. she has a overhead heat light on during the day and its turned off at night. She looks healthy and always has fresh water. She has a hide under the hot side.

A more complete set up description and pic will help.
The heat light in the enclosure doesn't sound right and I see no night heat source listed. So, I am wondering if she is trying to thermo-regular using the residual heat after the lamp is turned off. Unless she has a CHE, RHP or infra-red for night heating.
Balls do tend to be nocturnal and if they are going to be active night time is the most likely time.

She should also have a hide on both the hot and cool side. That will let her control her body temps a bit while still feeling secure.

Also just to say every heat source like that heat lamp needs a guard round it. :gj:
