Marine epoxy & fiberglass

Is anyone aware whether it would be safe for a wooden cage to be waterproofed in the same manner as a boat? I know that fiberglass is potentially carcinogenic when inhaled, but obviously it's safe enough to use for recreation. Would its preparation by this method make it safe for an animal to live in?

I know that people make plywood aquariums and seal them with fiberglass or liquid rubber.

I don't know why anyone would want a wooden aquarium, but that's awesome. Thanks for that.
