    Penn-Plax Snake box
I'm wondering whether the drastic increase in price over Exo Terra translates to quality. It certainly appears so to me, but without first-hand experience. The natural wood finish versions of Penn-Plax look much nicer to me. Does anybody know where each company manufactures their products? Because that could be a deciding factor for me.

If you are going to spend that kind of money don't bother with the pet store brands. What you want are companies like animal plastics, PVC Cages, and the like. These are the best cages you can get.

    1. Stay away from wood. Wood is hard to heat through and doesn't handle humidity well.

    2. All glass type cages are terrible at holding heat in. Plastic cages do a much better job. This means it is easier to heat the cage and you use less electricity doing so.

    3. Most plastic cages are stackable. This isn't a big deal for someone with 1 or 2 snakes, but if you have a bunch it really is great.

    4. You can easily customize a plastic cage. I drill holes in mine to pass cords through and can screw into the walls to mount things.

    It's only used as trim.

I know, but I want to allow sunlight into it. I'm still considering both options, but I want more information on this one.

The lighting inside of your cages, you must have them mounted inside of the top of the cage, what system did you use if you don't mind me asking? Thanks.

They are under cabinet fluorescent light fixtures that are screwed into the ceiling of the cage:
