Is my snake big enough ???
Silly quastion but every one has told me a healthy hatchling is around 75-100g. I bought my baby ball a mounth ago now.he was about 50-60g the scale I used wasn't digital and was crappy but free. I didn't know the size of mice he should eat so I started him on mouse pinkie seemed a bit to small but that's all they had for small live mice since he wouldn't take f/t. The next time they only had adults so I picked the smallest one took it no problem. This last feed was another small adult took it out of the toungs the second it was in the cage. He is now 75g. I got him at petco so who knows how old he is not to mention probably underfed at petco. Should I be worried I'm glade to see some progress but is it enough ?

Yes that little snake needs to be fed hopper to small adult mice. You want the body of their prey to be equal to the widest part of the snakes body. You can find a digital scale on amazon.com for super cheap and they're decent products. And the snake probably was fed fuzzys at petco which are a tad small, but that doesn't mean it was underfed. Those are always a little stressed so they don't eat most of the time.

We would need to see a picture of your snake to comment on whether he is healthy at that size. It sounds like you are feeding an appropriate prey size and timeline, though. If you bump him to a 4-5 day feeding schedule, you will see faster growth, but it isn't necessary.

Hey don't feel bad. I bought my normal from a local Petsmart. It wasn't even in the store a week. I got lucky there. My first weight when I got him was 81g now he's up to 120g. It's been almost 2 months since I had him.

Pinkies are way too small. I started with fuzzie mice, then moved directly to a hopper. Now I'm feeding two hoppers each feeding, but will be making move to small adult mice.
