    Is Anyone Just A Collector?
I am curious to see if anyone here is just a collector. And by collector I don't just 1 or 2 animals. I mean someone with like 10 or more BP's. Everyone I know that is a collector is also a breeder. I know I am. I couldn't really collect if I didn't breed to support the habit of the collecting.

I consider myself a collector/hobbyist... But also a small time breeder. The thing is, i breed to expand my collection. I prefer to add to my collection through making my own combos. I wanna make the multigene combos that i want in my collection, not just buy them.

I would consider myself a collector/breeder too. There are some multi gene animals that I want but I would really prefer to hopefully get them from the animals in my collection. I would like to add an Ivory to my collection and just produced my first clutch of YB X normal and got my female YB. I know it will be several years before I can hopefully produce an Ivory but for me it will be so much more satisfying to add the Ivory to my collection from my own animals that it would be to buy it. I wonder if there are any folks that are truly just pure collectors , that they buy all the animals they have and not breed nor sale.

I'm a breeder, but I do have a few snakes in my collection that I haven't or don't breed.

I'm a collector, currently I have no plans to breed. I do like to fantasize about who I would breed and to what should I decide to do it....

I would consider myself a collector at this point. I currently have 5 snakes, but will be adding more this year.

I'm of this opinion myself. Well said, Mike.

My way of thinking also. A lot of multi gene bps I want. But I want to breed for them.

I'm only breeding for the experience and thrill of it and the chance to add combos to my collection rather than buying them. I wouldnt consider myself a breeder as such until things are on a much bigger scale!

I am and will be a collector for about the next 3 years :D But only until my females get up to size. There's just something so intoxicating with the idea of breeding. I do think that some breeders develop a bit of a god complex (and I mean that in the nicest way possible!).

I mean, you have these awesome creatures, and to think that one day you can create more of them and spread the love!! I've already got some friends who are previous snake-haters on my hypothetical waiting list lol.

And the prospect of a return on investment is appealing, of course :) Although I expect I'll be in debt due to my addictive hobby for many years to come.
