    BP playing outside
Ive been going through the galleries and noticed a lot of pics of Snakes in the grass. Is it ok to let my guy play outdoors? would he try to run away? ive only had him a short time, is it something to try years from now?

They're pretty slow IMO. Even if one decides to go AWOL, you should be able to catch them easily. I have one that seemed absolutely terrified when I took him outside. He just froze in position til I took pity and brought him back inside lol. Just make sure you watch them very closely. And if you're nervous about him getting lost, wait til yours is bigger and you're more familiar with his personality.

I've let my snake play in the grass when I'm filming or photographing them, but otherwise i keep them inside. They do seem to like being in the grass, but i wouldn't leave them unsupervised. If you feel like letting your snake play around in your backyard, then do it! As long as you're watching them, they can't go far. And although there is a chance they may escape, it's unlikely. After i take my snakes in the backyard, i soak them in warm water for around 15 minutes, just to get the dirt off of them. After that they are fine. So as long a you watch your snake, and you rinse the dirt off of them afterwards (if any is visible) you should have no problem!:gj:

They won't run anywhere only having vestigal "feet". The might slither a bit especially if they are nervous outside about predators. But BP's like most snakes are actually not as fast as they look when moving on the ground, your average person can easily out run them.
A suggestion another user had regarding photographing snakes might help in this case to, an obvious nearby hide. The suggestion in my case was to leave them in a hide in location until the shot was set, pop the hide and click, click. But, an obvious hide close by might increase ease of recovery if the snake is spooked and wants security, atleast in my opinion it beats trying to pull it out from under a thick shrub.
I do take my snakes outside in appropriate weather but, they have yet to be off of me, that might change when I get a water fountain build for the from landing.
