temperature question during power outage
Had a major storm roll through my city last night and there is widespread power outages. The electric company has said it might be 3 to 4 days before we get turned back on. I've got a three year old ball and was wondering about his cage temps. The power went off about 12 hours ago and the ambient temp in the house is currently 76 and rising. There is a high of 92 forecast for today and tomorrow so I figure house temp should reach 80s soon. Of course, the underneath heating pads are not doing anything. Will he be OK for a few days in his tank under these conditions or should I relocate him to somewhere with power? Any opinions are appreciated.

When was his last meal?
If its at 76 and going up, I wouldt have a ton of concern.
Re: temperature question during power outage
He ate 30 hours before the power went out.

Just do what I do, put him in your shirt, on your tummy, and kick back & watch tv. Mine seems to poop every time I do this, but it's undoubtably a mix of bad timing and the fact that I use lights and not UTH's so his belly loves my belly, heat.
I mean our core temps are 98.6°F, so we should be warm enough in cases of prolonged power outages...

Re: temperature question during power outage
With the outside temperatures ranging from 76-92*F over the next few days, you will probably be more uncomfortable than your BP. I would just make sure that the room he's in during the day doesn't overheat, e.g. if any windows face south it may get hotter inside than outside. Overnight if you keep the doors and windows closed in his room he shouldn't drop below 76*F.
Re: temperature question during power outage
Thank you all for the replies / ideas. Sounds like he should be OK as long as the house temp stays where its at. I had actually not thought about the snake becoming too hot. With the current forecast it should be OK but I will definitely keep an eye on it. Time to leave work and head to the house. (Why is it work never loses power but the house always does?)
