EVERYONE: NO to Additions to the Lacey Act
We really need EVERYONE'S support on this one. PLEASE take the 3 minutes to copy and paste the letter to your Congressman/Congresswoman...and PLEASE DO IT NOW. The anti-pet "people" are severely pushing to have five more species added to the Lacey Act including Boa Constrictors, Reticulated Pythons, and the remaining Anacondas. Eventually, they'll press for about every other type of constricting snake...which will include everything except venomous.

Here is the link to the USARK page:

Emails sent! Sad that with everything else going on in this country, we still have to fight just to keep our pets...

Someone always has to be a busy body. Why can't they just leave well enough alone?!? Seriously, one of their arguments was that 12 people have been killed by large constrictors since 1990....17 since 1978. 200+ people are killed by farm animals every year and 25+ are killed by dogs. And their argument they are an "invasive species"?!? I would love to see a Retic survive the MN winters we have here. Their science and reasoning is soooo flawed.

And this is a different issue than the Categorical Exclusion issue posted yesterday...

So, my Rep has a drop down list for Subject. Would someone go to this link and view the drop down and give an opinion for the appropriate subject?

    Thanks.

I'm absolutely infuriated at all this! It's about damn time we go in the light and start (peaceful) public protesting!
Suddenly, all these damn bigots and politicians are on the offense. 200 years ago, they would have been shot by officials themselves! I say we contact USARK to start organizing public protest. It worked for Brazil, racial equality, and agricultural workers, why not herpetocultural businesses?
