I'm a newbie! Is he Pastel?

Hi Snake people!

I just got my first ball python and I'm new here. He was sold to me as a "Pastel" but he doesn't really look like the pastels i've seen in photos. His yellow is sort of a greenish yellowish brown on black. He looks much blacker than the normals i have seen but maybe that's because he is a baby (2012)? His back is jet black but his head is sort of a deep chocolatey brown. He is still a baby so maybe his colors will change some. Whatever he is i think he's super cute! I attached some photos. Notice his delicious pretzels! :D

Sorry about the photos, You cant really see his brown head in there. His belly is very bright white. THanks for humoring me! I hope to connect with some other snake people on here.

Looks like a Black Pastel to me, not a Pastel.

Doesn't looks like a pastel to me, just a normal I would say...

Id say black pastel.

100% a black pastel.

It's a completely different gene than what we call "pastel" and is quite closely related to the cinnamon gene.

Have a look on worldofballpythons to see all the combinations it can make. :)
